I used to take pride in the fact that I was strong emotionally, I just couldn’t understand how anyone would allow another person mess up their emotions and thought process. Yh, I used to until I got my heart broken. It’s one of the worst things ever. Like you’ll just be sitting on your own, then you’ll hear a song and you’ll just start tearing up unnecessarily because you can relate to the lyrics of the song, isn’t that just pathetic?
I remember seeing Lola Versus during that period and I was enjoying the movie and before I could say Adekunle Chukwuma Ciroma, I was already crying like “Lola I know what you’re going through, we’ll get through this” sigh. So yhyh heartbreaks are horrible, but these 3 tips will help you deal with them better
Yup, cry me a river. Cry cry cry. Contrary to popular belief, crying doesn’t denote weakness, instead it signifies strength. Tears help you release stress toxins from your body and kill bacteria. Tears contain lysozyme, a fluid that kills about about 90% of all bacteria in 5 to 10 minutes. So when next that Yoruba demon breaks your heart, don’t hesitate to cry!
2. Cut off every form of communication
Seriously don’t listen these maturity police, cutting off is not a sign of immaturity biko. If at all you’re gonna be friends with the person, you still need time to heal before you decide to be friends or whatever. So mute the person on Twitter, unfollow on IG, block on WhatsApp, delete from bbm, delete the number(s), messages, in fact, remove the number from your call log(s). Total elimination from your memory is strongly advised.
3. Do not get a rebound
Why? It mostly never ends well.
Just incase you need songs to help you get through this:
