Hi! If you’ve seen Love Actually, then you should know the S Club Juniors’ version of Puppy Love, if you’ve not, today is your lucky day. Puppy Love was written by Paul Anka for his then girlfriend (and I can’t even get a guy to buy me food sigh), it was covered by Donny Osmond some years later. I kind of prefer S Club Juniors’ version because of the Christmas-themed video.
Hi! I’m currently at the office just because PHCN decided we do not deserve power supply this weekend. Mad bunch, I’m telling you.
Hi! I made Amala for the second time yesterday and it was totally lump-free. The first time was on Monday, I prepared it for my cousin and friend. Since it was my first time, I went online as opposed using my natural instinct, I checked a popular food blog and the lady was like don’t stir the yam flour while you pour it into the boiling water.
Hi! At a point in our lives, we’ve probably been side pieces, knowingly or unknowingly. Okay, not all of us. Anyway, as you know by now, I love creating playlists, so today, I’m here with a side piece playlist. If you just found out you’re a side piece, if you’re a professional side piece or if you’re just in search of good music, here’s something to enjoy this weekend.
1. Lie about us – Avant feat. Nicole Scherzinger
From the first day I heard this song, I knew there was something not right with it but I just couldn’t stop listening to it. lol. If you’re liking a guy that is in a relationship and he keeps giving you bobo that he’ll leave his girl for you, this is for you. Listen to this and sway to the sweet tune of your foolishness.
2. My little secret – Xscape
“I like being in the same room as you and your girlfriend, the fact that she don’t know that really turns me on.” Just look at how brutal that sounds. If you’re an unapologetic side piece, this should be your ringtone.
3. As we lay – Shirley Murdock
So there’s this fine guy you’ve been seeing around, you start thinking of how good you two will look together, you stay up at night wondering if your 3rd kid will have his nose or your lips; and then you hear he’s married. What a feeling. Now you can decide to let go and look for someone else to fantasize about, well, that or you can have your way with him to this song. Hey ‘just a one time thing’ people, this is for you.
4. Secret lovers – Atlantic Lovers
Okay. This is one of my favourite songs ever. I discovered it when I was still in my first relationship and you just can’t begin to fathom the war that went on in my head anytime I listened to it back then; I’d always feel bad for listening to a song that blatantly encourages cheating. Thinking about this now, it’s not exactly a side piece song, this one is a cheater’s anthem straight up.
5. I can love you – Mary J. Blige ft. Lil Kim
He has a girlfriend, you know but you think you’re better suited for him. So you keep trying to convince him you’re the one for him, you can as well send him this song and maybe Taylor Swift’s You belong with me.
6. Last time – Trey Songz
When your boyfriend that has a girlfriend breaks up with you, listen to this. Realize he loves her and you’re nothing but a side piece and move the eff on.
7. Saving all my love for you – Whitney Houston
I saved the best for the last. Most times, you actually do not set out to be a side piece, you innocently fall in love with someone and then you find out he has a wife/girlfriend. The obvious thing to do is to cut the person off and move on, but it’s not all that easy to do.
8. Jolene – Dolly Parton
Whether you’re a side piece by accident or by choice, you should always think about the main woman. How does she feel? How would she feel knowing her man is out here with someone else? How would you feel if your man was unfaithful?
If you know me personally, you’ll know how strongly opposed I am to cheating. I keep saying that if my partner cheats on me, I will walk out of the relationship. Like faithfulness is a big deal to me. I’ve made some mistakes in the past but now I’m grown I definitely know better. So if you’re a side piece, I’m begging you to pick up your dignity and move on. Mbok.
